Sprockets from small-scale factories feature low machining precision, significant pitch deviation and nonstandard tooth-profile workmanship. They cannot mate closely with the track chain, causing friction and jamming during operation, which results in dual wear on both the track chain and the sprocket. It is recommended to select products from reputable manufacturers with precisely machined tooth profiles.
If a track chain has sustained long-term use and becomes deformed, replacing only the sprocket will create a mismatch between the new sprocket and the old chain. Excessive clearances and uneven meshing will accelerate chain wear. Inspect chain condition when replacing the sprocket; replace the track chain at the same time if it shows severe wear.
Incorrect sprocket installation, or misalignment of chassis-mounted idlers and track rollers, shifts the meshing position between the sprocket and track chain and triggers abnormal friction. Calibrate positions during installation, regularly inspect the working condition of chassis components, and perform adjustments in a timely manner.
