Why does the track roller break at the edge?

1.Overload
Long-term high-intensity operation in harsh environments such as mining areas. Track rollers bear extreme impact force exceeding their load limit, directly leading to edge breakage.
2.Harsh Working Conditions
A large amount of crushed stones in mines constantly collide with and squeeze track rollers. Repeated impact causes breakage at the edge.
3.Frequent Sharp Turns on Site
Forced sharp steering increases stress on the side of the track roller, thus causing edge breakage.
4.Unqualified Material and Processing
The chemical composition fails to meet standards during casting, and the hardness after heat treatment and quenching is insufficient. This makes track rollers brittle with low toughness, so they are easy to break at the edge under impact.
5.Improper Installation
Misaligned undercarriage parts lead to undercarriage deformation. Long-term unilateral stress on the front track roller will result in edge breakage.
6.Abnormal track tension
When the track is adjusted too tight, it continuously squeezes both flanges of the track roller, causing fatigue cracks after long-term lateral extrusion. If the track is too loose, the track will shift left and right frequently during travel, repeatedly striking the wheel flanges and resulting in cracking of the track roller.
Proper use and maintenance prolong the service life of undercarriage parts.
